The Demos® typeface family was expanded, updated and revitalized as Demos Next early last year – but the new design was still missing something. The Demos design is handsome and highly legible, but the family lacked a suite of condensed designs for when space is at a premium. That is, until now.
This month Fonts.com is announcing 6 new condensed weights of Demos, each with a complementary italic design. The new designs dramatically expand the family’s range of use and can be ideal choices for both print and interactive projects that are space-sensitive. A natural for headlines, sub heads and other large-scale content, the Demos Condensed designs also perform remarkably well in small sizes for both short and long form textual content.
At its core, the Demos Next design is handsome, space efficient and highly legible. Curved strokes are pleasing shapes, cap and lowercase x-heights are in contemporary proportions and details have been drawn with subtle nuances. The end result is a refined design that maintains high levels of legibility in a wide variety of imaging devices.
