Sampo Kaasila leads Monotype’s research and development team. He has a passion for the intersection of art and technology and enjoys creating new technologies. Sampo has extensive experience with research and development, fonts and font rendering. Prior to joining Monotype, Sampo was the lead engineer for TrueType technology at Apple and co-founded a software technology company that was later acquired by Bitstream. Sampo holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
